It was bound to happen sooner or later.
A state has put the temporary brakes on [tag-tec]foreclosures[/tag-tec].
Is it surprising that state is one of our "favorites", Massachusetts?
I’m saying this tongue-in-check of course, but Massachusetts is not my first pick as a landlord friendly state.
So let’s see.
Governor Deval Patrick wants to help all those struggling [tag-ice]homeowners[/tag-ice]. That’s admirable.
But he’s ordering bank regulators to delay [tag-self]foreclosure[/tag-self] actions for complaining homeowners for up to two months.
Question is who will pay for all that additional paperwork? The taxpayers, perhaps?
Where was the governor when all those folks were getting in over their heads?
Here’s the thing that really gets my dander up.
“It’s a very big deal. We will bring the Massachusetts standard nationwide,” says Bruce Marks, head of the Neighborhood Association Corp. of America.
Please, Mr. Marks, not in my state.
