Warning: Lawmakers' Property Tax Cuts Can Cost You More Later

Here's a subject that's near and dear to me; [tag-tec]property taxes[/tag-tec].

 

As we do battle in Tennessee our neighbors in New Jersey are also struggling with the same  tax issues. 

 

When will our lawmakers realize this cookie jar will  soon be  empty if taxes continue to rise at very high rates?

 

This article from The Wall Street Journal written by Terri Cullen illustrates one family's  [tag-self]property tax[/tag-self] problem.  Multiply that frustration for real estate investors. 

 

The article is a very good summary of  tax assessment and how the incorrect assessment can scare off potential [tag-ice]homebuyers[/tag-ice]. 

 

This is a major point many homeowners and investors miss.  Make sure the assessment is fair and the information is right.  If not, you'll be paying much more in taxes than you actually owe.
