House Previously Owned by Mark McGwire Turns Into a Flopped Flip
A home previously owned by baseball great Mark McGwire has a new selling price.
That makes four reductions, if I can count correctly.
According to a report brought to us by the Irvine Housing Blog the Shady Canyon home in Irvine, CA was first reduced on 6/28/06 from $4,195,000 to $4,050,000.
8/23/06- $3,950,000
10/13/06- 3,850,000
An update by a reader informs us that the flipper who had bought it from Mark McGwire is now asking $3,695,000.
The flipper is apparently taking a big hit on the 4240 sq.ft. manse.
Here's a good report on what not to do with a flip.
Most Ridiculous Listing Category
It’s also in Irvine, CA and yes, it really is on the market for $659,900.
I know, we thought it was a joke too at first.
However, it is a real house, not a shed, and they really are asking way over a half mil for it.
Why?
But it really has four bedrooms if you are counting a den being used as a bedroom. I’m not sure how they can tell, however, underneath all that foliage, but maybe that’s just me. I really prefer non-foliage housing myself.
But that may be because I’m such a neat nick. I like to see good lines on house, not varicose veined vines.
This goes to show how crazy the market is still getting in some areas.
