Couple Rehabs 16 Room Bronx Manse for Under $1 Million

We’re so enthralled with this big city make-over that we’re featuring the 100 year old, 16 room, 3,300 –square-foot manse as our property of the week.

While we’re on the subject of rehabs, there’s a fascinating success story coming out of the Bronx.  We’re so enthralled with this big city make-over that we’re featuring the 100 year old, 16 room, 3,300 –square-foot  manse  as our property of the week.

But there are two points to this rehab story which we want to emphasize.

It takes work, money and planning, but it’s immensely rewarding, especially if you can get a find like this so close to Manhattan for only $675,000.

And- the young couple, Marcel and Sherri Deans, would never have discovered this gem if they hadn’t been out driving around.  In other words, they found it by accident.

You can read reams of real estate how-to’s, but I really believe the biggest secret of all is to get out and drive.   Don’t depend on realtors, the MLS, or Zillow totally.  Just go and see what’s out there.  You may be in for a very big and pleasant surprise in 2008 if you do.
