MSN Real Estate has a great guide, 10 Must –Do Repairs Before Selling.
It gives excellent tips such as resealing the toilet, getting rid of all unattractive odors, and replacing vinyl flooring.
I must add these are very important points for landlords too. If you don’t think a prospective tenant, especially one in the more upscale housing market, doesn’t notice nail holes in the walls, think again.
Small details like that can be killers in a slow market. Let your competition keep on thinking people don’t give a hoot about stuff like that.
But here’s something else worth noting.
I picked up a really good tip on how to repair scratched unpainted kitchen cabinets.
It’s something called Tibet Almond Stick, supposedly a 100-year old family formula, which will cover many light scratches. We’re going to try it today on one of our units.
