Is the real estate market really getting this bad?

Of course, for the real estate investor landlord who is basically a buy-and-hold investor these may prove to be very good times to invest.  But keep in mind, you want to move where the herd is going, and that's closer into town.  You can always tell this by which cars are selling and which ones are practically being given away.
