Home Staging Ain’t What It Used To Be

Recently a condo was home staged to make it appear a fictional bachelor named Rob Clark lives there and he’s just been entertaining… well, I don’t think it’s worth elaborating any further to make my point. You get it.

Home staging ain't what it used to be

Home staging.  We talked about that months ago.

The new version has arrived.  It’s wackier, more niched, dramatic and effective.

I’m referring to the example of the new condo converts in West Hollywood, CA.

Recently a condo was home staged to make it appear a fictional bachelor named Rob Clark lives there and he’s just been entertaining… well, I don’t think it’s worth elaborating any further to make my point.  You get it.

Here’s the confusing part, for me anyway.

It’s working- in that market.  They’re breaking all the rules of home staging which used to be to hide everything personal.  So realtors used to tell families to pack up the toys, pets, kids, personal collection of matchbooks from restaurants, model ships in bottles, etc.  It was kind of like a flight  attendant preparing you for a bumpy landing.

Yet now, you’ve got fantasy?  Hmmm.

Perhaps it works  in today’s home staging because that’s what people want.
