Can Condo Owner Complain About Neighbor’s Kitchen Renovation?

Curbed has a very good answer to the question of condo noise and what are your rights, etc.

The question concerns kitchen renovations going on in an upstairs unit above the person who is asking about the noise and who also works at home.  In other words the person wants everything quiet during working hours.

The answer is interesting because according to Curbed, you don’t need a permit to do cosmetic work.

Someone else wrote in and said New York is kind of a busy place full of noise anyway, so what can you expect?

I think it’s interesting because we’ve been condo owners for over 20 years now in Nashville, and believe me when I say this, noise can be one of your biggest problems.
